Friday Fictioneers: Companionship

For Madison Wood‘s Friday Fictioneers picture prompt challenge:

The silhouette of your being,

soft as silk and factually there,

like a humming noise at the back of my brain

where the traffic of moods

keep me lying til’ noon.

I think of the ways

I could have been born different,

I reminisce a past

that seems vaguely mine.

why do you feel distant –

like a memory

and not a person?

I lose track of the times

I fell into the well

of my own wishing,

these six worlds

I’ve curated in my head

to cope.

Nowadays I go to sleep

hoping when I wake up

I’d still be here

in the form of us.
